A Vision for the Future
Building Sustainable Campus Ministry in Ohio

This is about
investing in the lives of young people,
nurturing the future of the church,
and ensuring that the transformative love of Christ is felt on our college campuses.
In a time when the mainline church is facing declining membership,
closing churches, and grappling with grief the need for
future-focused sustainable ministry has never been greater.
We believe the best response to this “death” is to invest in “new life” for the church.
We are embarking on a capital campaign to raise $3 million for a sustainability fund
that will permanently fund a Presbyterian campus minister position at Ohio State University and provide a sustained source of funds for ministry.
We believe a strong ministry at the largest university in the state is the first step to creating a network that supports campus ministry statewide.
During this critical time in their lives,
college students are deciding
what they believe and why.
48% of Gen Z have no religious affiliation. More than half of those who were raised in a church, leave religion behind around age 18. Meanwhile 73% of Gen Z report feeling lonely and craving a sense of belonging.
For us, these statistics are more than just numbers; they represent real student lives on campuses across the country. Each one is a person in need of God’s radically inclusive love.
These are the students we are reaching.
Only 4% of college students are reached by a campus ministry. Those who are involved during their college years are 3x more likely to stay in the Church after college.
